How do I know if the damage to my product is covered under warranty?Updated 2 months ago
We offer a 2-year limited warranty on all boards and apparel, starting from the purchase date listed on your original receipt. For bindings, the heel hoops, baseplates, and discs are covered under a lifetime warranty, all other parts are under a 2-year warranty.
Before submitting a claim, consider how long ago you purchased the product. If it’s been more than 3 years, it may no longer be covered. Also note that damage caused by impact, misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear is not covered. This applies to boards, boots, apparel, and bindings.
Here are general guidelines for what is accepted and what is not:
Snowboards
Usually Accepted for warranty:
- Delamination.
- Problems with inserts.
- Cracked topsheet (outside of the binding area and if the woodcore is not broken).
- Split edge from sidewall (if there is no obvious impact on the edge).
Probably Declined for Warranty:
- Any damage on the base due to impact.
- Broken edges due to impact.
- A completely broken board (cracked edge-to-edge).
- Cosmetic damage, like scratches or dents, or normal wear and tear.
- Screws pushed through the base (use of inserts screws that are too long, or used without a washer).
Bindings
You are covered with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on Baseplates, Disks and Heelhoops.
- You are covered against manufacturing defects only under normal use, and when set up as instructed by the manual.
- You are NOT covered for cosmetic damage, like scratches or dents, or normal wear and tear.
- You are NOT covered for damage caused by misuse, collision, alteration or modification.
- You are NOT covered for damage caused by improper assembly or installation. Please read the manual carefully!
Boots
The following issues are usually accepted by warranty, if there is no sign of misuse or significant abrasion, and the boots have little use.
- BOA® guide: You are covered if the BOA® guides have come out of the shell because of the stitching broke.
- BOA® guide: You are covered if the toebox and or tongue stitching have failed over longer than 1cm/0.4in.
- BOA® system is out: You are covered if the BOA® guide has been inserted into the boot in the wrong place. This does not apply if the damage is the result of either impact or normal wear and tear. This includes wear from bindings, hiking/walking, crampon use, etc.
- Outsole: You are covered if outsole peels at the front or back of the boot. This does not apply to boots that have been misused or have serious abrasion or a hole in the sole, which is considered normal wear & tear.
- Tongue cut by BOA® lace: If the boots have fewer than five days on snow and are in very good condition. Otherwise the damage will be classified as blemishes that are not covered by warranty as they are misuse/wear and tear related.
- You are NOT covered for damages caused by normal wear and tear. This includes wear from bindings, hiking/walking, crampon use, etc.
